falling leaves

Leaves fall to the ground,

They die and turn brown.

But when all has been lost,

Hope can be found…

Leaves fall to the ground,

They die and turn brown,

But when all has been lost,

Hope can be found.

For the soil is fed,

By things that are dead,

So there’s beauty in life,

And there’s new life in death.

happy place

The sun is warm on my back,

The breeze is gentle on my face.

The grass is cool under my feet,

This is my happy place…

The sun is warm on my back,

The breeze is gentle on my face.

The grass is cool under my feet,

This is my happy place.

Here among the wild things,

Where some have roots and some have wings.

Where some are quiet and others sing.

Some things are fast and some are slow,

Some stay put while others grow.

Where your colors and your glory show.

Some things are still, some things give chase.

Some things are fragrant, some have taste.

Yes, this is my happy place.

The place where I can feel so small,

The place where I don’t mind at all.

today

Let today be today,

Let it be what it is.

Accept what it brings,

It’s unique challenges…

Let today be today,

Let it be what it is.

Accept what it brings,

It’s unique challenges.

Make room for it now,

You can’t wish it away,

The same way you cannot,

Force it to stay.

Be here in the moment,

Be present in your thoughts.

Make plans for tomorrow,

But worry you must not.

Don’t get stuck in the past,

Yesterday is gone.

It’s too heavy to carry,

Any more days than one.

So face what is needed,

Don’t rush or delay.

All you can do is,

Let today be today.

good gifts

You give me good gifts,

Things I don’t expect.

When I need them most,

When I have nothing left...

You give me good gifts,

Things I don’t expect.

When I need them most,

When I have nothing left.

You use all my pain,

You use all my grief.

Somehow they turn,

Into something I need.

When I’m at my lowest,

You’re close, you’re so near.

You find little ways,

To show me you care.

I love it so much,

I forget about the pain.

I don’t mind it when,

I know what I’ll gain.

It’s like being seen,

When nobody sees.

It’s like being heard,

When no one’s listening.

You give me strength,

When I only have weak.

You give me feelings,

When I am empty.

You give resilience,

When I’m down on my knees.

You give closeness,

When everyone leaves.

You give me peace,

When I’ve anxiety.

You give me fight,

When I can’t achieve.

You give me life,

When my lungs cannot breathe.

You are my hope,

And hope is everything.

Your gifts are so good,

But they’re not the best part.

The best part is getting,

A glimpse of your heart.

Sometimes I can’t see,

Because of the fall.

The gift of seeing you,

Is the best gift of all.

hallelujah

I cannot thank you,

With words you deserve.

You are far more worthy,

Than any words I’ve heard…

I cannot thank you,

With words you deserve.

You are far more worthy,

Than any words I’ve heard.

So I’ll give you my heart,

But that’s still not enough.

You deserve more than that,

My heart’s cold and tough.

I’ll give you my mind,

I’ll set apart every thought.

But I can’t seem to do this,

My thoughts can’t all be caught.

I’ll give you my body,

Surrender it to your will.

But I’ve tried this for years,

I struggle, even still.

I’ll give you my emotions,

I’ll give you feelings that come.

But sometimes I’m empty,

Sometimes I’m numb.

I’ll give you my passion,

I’ll pour it out for you.

But sometimes I have none,

Even that just won’t do.

I’ll give you my faith,

Though it’s a small amount.

It’s very unsteady,

So full of doubt.

I’ll give you my strength,

Though there isn’t much there.

Sometimes it escapes me,

And is riddled with fear.

I’ll give you my worship,

But short it still falls.

It’s full of distraction,

Pride and inner walls.

I’ll give you my voice,

I’ll sing every song.

But my timing is off,

And I get the notes wrong.

I’ll give you all of me,

But all I am falls so short.

Of what you deserve,

Of what you are worth.

But it’s not about me,

And what I can’t be.

It’s all about you,

Who you are, what you do.

So I’ll give you the glory

And I won’t stop to worry.

You know I fall short,

You know I’m not perfect.

You were perfect for me,

And you said I was worth it.

So I’ll give you my words,

My thoughts, and my praise.

I’ll give you my body,

And with my hands raised,

I’ll sing every song,

With passion and faith.

I’ll give you my worship,

And all of my strength.

I’ll give you my heart,

I’ll give it all to you God.

I’ll give you my voice,

And my “hallelujah”.

intercessor

You said “goodbye”,

To your home in the sky.

You left it all,

To come here and die...

You said “goodbye”,

To your home in the sky.

You left it all,

To come here and die.

You left all your worth,

You came here to earth.

You came so humbly,

You came here through birth.

You came to this place,

To live in our dirt.

You came face to face,

To be broken and hurt.

These things that you choose,

You came to be bruised.

You came to feel things,

Things like abuse.

You felt things like me,

You felt things like grief.

You felt things like tears,

You’ve done things like weep.

You felt things like pain,

Like all of our shame.

You knew this would happen,

Yet still you came.

From your place of holiness,

You came to feel loneliness.

Instead of the glory,

You chose to be lowliest.

You felt things like hunger,

You did things like suffer.

You felt what we felt,

And the pressure we’re under.

You’ve been betrayed,

When nobody stayed.

Even your father,

Turned his face away.

These things we now share,

They show us your heart.

We see how you care,

When we see your scars.

We shared things with you,

Like our point of view.

Like oppression and brokenness,

But you share with us too.

You share things like grace,

Like mercy and faith.

You share things like healing,

Honor and strength.

Now you’re back on your throne,

You still share your healing.

You groan when we groan,

You still share your feeling.

No one is like you,

Not one can come close.

You’ve proven just how,

You’ve loved us the most.

haven

Let me be your haven,

The place where you land,

When your heart is in need,

Let me hold your hand...

Let me be your haven,

The place where you land,

When your heart is in need,

Let me hold your hand.

Let me be the shoulder,

To lean and to cry on,

The one who is present,

The one you rely on.

Let me be your haven,

The place where you hide,

When life is too much,

I’m right by your side.

Let me be your rock,

The place that is steady.

When you feel uncertain,

When life is too heavy.

Let me be your haven,

Where you take your grief,

The place where you find,

Unending peace.

Let me be your guide,

When you’re feeling lost,

When the seas are rough,

And your ship is storm-tossed.

Let me be your haven,

The place without shame,

Where you can mess up,

And be loved just the same.

Let me be your friend,

When all others have gone,

Let me be close,

When you think you’ve no one.

Let me be your haven,

To silence every fear,

May you always find,

The strength you need here.

Let me be your shield,

When you’re under attack,

Let me do the fighting,

I’ve got your back.

Let me be your haven,

The place you find grace,

Let me wipe every tear,

That rolls down your face.

Let me be your home,

The place you find rest,

Where you can relax,

And take a deep breath.

Let me be your haven,

A place to just be,

Completely yourself,

The place you are free.
